Palestinians in Jerusalem have been living for decades in an atmosphere of hatred and racism towards them. But they call for a peaceful solution of the current escalation, based on justice and security, Archbishop Theodosios Atallah Hanna of Sebastia from the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, told Sputnik.

The plight of the Christians in the Middle East, especially in the Holy Land, is reportedly becoming more complicated every year, also due to pressure from Israeli authorities. Unfolding hostilities between Israel and Hamas are only worsening Christians’ life, and Jerusalem is also in danger, according to Archbishop Theodosios Atallah Hanna of Sebastia from the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

Christians in the Holy Land are mostly Arabs, who feel they are Palestinians. They are demanding peace, but on equal rights, which they have not had until now, the cleric said in an interview with Sputnik.

LIVING under the worst kind of repression for more than half a century, the Palestinians of the occupied Gaza Strip, described as the world’s ‘largest open-air prison’, struck back against their subjugator last week, with a ferocity that has shaken the Zionist state.

They took the battle inside Israel, inflicting the worst kind of humiliation on the most powerful military force in the region. More people died in Israel in a single day than in any other conflict since it became a state. Inevitably, the retaliation has been extremely brutal.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The tightening of the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip by Israel will make the already bad humanitarian situation there much worse, UN Relief and Director of Communications Juliette Touma told Sputnik.

“Gaza has been under a severe blockade for the past 16 years with high levels of poverty, with dependence on UN agencies, including UNRWA, which is the UN agency for Palestine refugees,” Touma said. “So, any tightening of the blockade is going to make things that are very, very bad, far, far worse, including for civilians, among them many women and children.”

What this retired Israeli general said could not be any more obvious and self-evident.  And yet, it has been a taboo in the West, which has been complicit in the Israelis Nazi-like crimes against the Palestinians, after it helped the Eurpean Jews – whom it tried to get rid of in its own territories – to steal the Palestine from the Palestinians and rename it Israel.  Many years ago, I wrote some articles which identified the Nazi-like atrocities of Israelis against the Palestinians.  However, as expected, these have been almost totally ignored in the West and its “Free and Independent Media”.
