Introductory note by Fazal Rahman

In the article with the above link, Professor Petras, one of the most knowledgeable and eminent social scientists and political-economists in the world, has partially analyzed the Orwellian “Communism”; corruption in all layers of society; especially in the top level party, business, and government officials; and emergence of new class divisions; etc. in China.

It is obvious that China has achieved astounding economic, technological, and military development during the last few decades. However, it is also self-evident that it has sacrificed and betrayed socialism and communism in that process, which is clearly manifested in its domestic as well as international policies and realities. It is bending over backwards all the way to appease the current Godfather of capitalism and imperialism, the US of A, with which it has developed enormous trade, financial, and educational relations, stampeding over all the fundamental economic laws and processes, requirements, and principles of socialism and communism. Objectively, the current politico-economic system in China can only be describes as state capitalism, run by a state capitalist government and state capitalist party, still calling itself “Communist Party”! Chinese “Communism”, “Communist Party”, and “Socialism” are all phony and Orwellian.

American provocations and threats against North Korea: The danger of thermo-nuclear war is real

By Fazal Rahman, Ph.D.

After the missile attack on a Syrian airbase, on the basis of phony and fake pretexts, masked with arrogant imperialist self-confidence, and repeated and reproduced in clone-like manner, by all the major media, politicians, government officials, and countless millions of ordinary people, not only in the US, but in other NATO countries, as well as in their Third World clients, the US is now undertaking extremely provocative and war-mongering actions against North Korea, which has nuclear weapons and has threatened to use them if subjected to aggression by the Americans or South Koreans.  Unlike the other victims of relatively recent US military  invasions, aggression, or intimidation, like Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, and Iran, North Korea has nuclear weapons and their delivery systems, and can wreak havoc on the aggressors and their accomplices, if cornered and pushed too far.  Nuclear weapons were introduced into South Korea by the US in the 1950s.  Thousands of them were deployed there.  North Korean development of nuclear weapons technology was undoubtedly in reaction that.  These are supposed to have been withdrawn in 1991.  Even if that is the case, US does not really need them there, as it has the ability to target any area of the world from multiple sources and locations.  Also, these can be redeployed and reassembled in South Korea rapidly.  Their storage facilities there have been preserved.   Moreover, the planned installation of the THAAD missile system (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) in South Korea poses a great new danger to the security of North Korea, China, and Russia.  North Korea has repeatedly stated its willingness for real, mutual, and equitable denuclearization.  However, the US and South Korea insist on imposing a unilateral denuclearization, one-sidedly, only on North Korea, a most unfair, unacceptable, and arrogant imperialist demand (1).
